Quarterly fast track courses move TWICE AS FAST as semestered courses. Students should consider the time and space they have to dedicate to their studies in choosing the timing of course-delivery.

In Chemistry 30 students examine and quantify how thermochemical and electrochemical systems use or provide energy. They explore common organic compounds—those that contain carbon—and how they are used in technological applications and everyday life. Students also investigate acid-base reactions and interpret how they eventually reach equilibrium.

Prerequisite: Chemistry 20: 50%. (It is recommended that students taking Chem 30 also have Math 20-1 or 20-2.) Students without the prerequisite must withdraw from class with no refund if they are under 20 years of age as of September 1 of the current school year. 

Students taking this course must write a diploma exam according to the provincial assessment calendar.

TOTAL COST:
  • Students under 20 years on September 1 of the current school year: $75 non-refundable program fee.
  • Students over 20 years on September 1 of the current school year: $75 non-refundable program fee plus a $600 tuition fee.
